Meaning of ίσος in this context

Γεια σε όλους σας, I wondering what role ίσος (ίσο) plays in this sentence, and how the meaning is different without it: "Η Γαια γέννησε ίσο με αυτήν τον Ουρανό και μετά τα Όρη και τον Πόντο" This comes from a book called Ελληνική Μυθολογία. Let me know if it needs context to make sense (especially with αυτήν τον?) Thank you!

In this context means equal! The word ίσο defines the word Ουρανό, that's why both words are in the same case, number and gender. ίσο με αυτήν = equal to her.
