This is an order of operations problem. When selecting what operation to do first, start with operations inside grouping symbols. Thus we first add 100+2. We will then be left with an addition and a multiplication, with no more grouping symbols, so we do the multiplication 1st, and finally, add the results:
10+5(100+2)=10+5*102=10+510=520.
