I'm not sure if this problem is a multiple choice type but we can solve this equation by dividing both sides by -6:
-6a > -24
a < 4
You might be a little confused! Why did I flip the sign?!? That's a rule in math: when you divide by a negative number when solving inequalities, you must flip the sign. So, this answer tells us that "a" must be less than 4.
-6a>-24. Divide both sides by -6 and remember to reverse the inequality sign results in
a<4
If you want to prove that this is correct try a number>4 in the original equation such as 5 and you get
(-6) x5 >-24
-30 >-24 which is NOT true
