proof of english proficiency?

I'm from an English speaking country where my education was predominately in English. I'm currently in the process of applying for studies abroad and they have requested me to provide a document of proficiency in English. I have no idea what kind of document this should be. Can someone enlighten me as to what this should be?

Are you able to contact the study abroad program directly to ask them what they have in mind?

As one idea, I would get a letter from your secondary school, signed by a school administrator, stating that the school's language of instruction is (predominantly or entirely) English. The letter could also include the dates you attended and when you graduated (alternatively, you could attach an official transcript).
