I need help solving this math word problem.

A certain type of an elephant could weigh 6 to 9 tons. How many pounds could it weigh?

1 ton = 2000 pounds 6 tons = 6*2000 = 12,000 pounds 9 tons = 9*2000 = 18,000 pounds
