to reflect coordinates over the x-axis we follow the rule (x,y) → (x,-y), where only the y-value is negated.

so (-5, -4) reflected across the x-axis is (-5, -(-4)) or (-5, 4)

(3, -10) reflected across the x-axis is (3, -(-10)) or (3, 10)

(1, 2) reflected across the x-axis is (1, -2)
