To answer this question, you must first find out the difference of the water in the pool from before it evaporates to after it evaporates. 2.5 million liters - 2.0 liters will give you .5 liters. That is how much water you lost from the pool. Now you can set up a proportion to find out your percentage. We don't know the percentage evaporated so we will let x represent the amount evaporated. Since it is a percentage we know it is out of 100%. X is the part and 100 is the whole. The same is true with .5 million liters being the part and 2.5 million liters being the whole. Your equation will look like this:
