The given line: 3x - 5y + 15 = 0
All parallel lines: 3x - 5y + C = 0 and we need the point (-4,6) to determine C:
3(-4) -5(6) + C = 0
-12 -30 + C = 0
C = 42
The parallel line is: 3x - 5y + 42 = 0
All perpendicular lines have a formula that looks like: 5x + 3y + C = 0 and we need to find C:
5(-4) + 3(6) + C = 0
-20 + 18 + C = 0
C = 2
The perpendicular line is: 5x + 3y + 2 = 0
