Sharpening a portrait with PS Elements?

I realise there are a thousand and one ways (maybe a little over the top) of sharpening an image in full blown Photoshop, however these appear to require features not within Photoshop Elements. Has anyone had an good experience with sharpening that would be applicable to what PSE is capable of ?

You can try going to Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen Edges (If not in that pull down filter you can try the others). It really depends on what you're trying to sharpen, the pixels, the resolution, etc. You can also try selecting the the area you want sharpened and on the side tool bar select Sharpen- A circle cursor should appear on your screen and you should be able to right click on your mouse and hover over the area you want to sharpen. At the top tool bar you should be able to adjust the strength of sharpness you're looking for.
