Triangles and angles

Salina has three pieces of pipe. Pipe A is 3 feet long, pipe B is 8 feet long, and pipe C is 9 feet long. If the full length of each pipe is used, can the three pieces of pipe be placed together to make a triangle?

 A. yes, 3 + 8 > 9

 B. yes, 9 - 3 > 8

 C. no, 3 + 8 < 9

 D. no, 9 - 8 < 3
