Remove blue lines in Photoshop?

I have seen a lot of very different tutorials about how to remove blue lines from a scanned drawing. So I ask myself what is the best way in term of simplicity and quality to do this in Photoshop (CS3 and above). And also, is the choice of the blue color really the best, or there are other better colors in order to obtain a clean final drawing with the sole black lines?

Hi, the best way would be adding a "Black & White" adjustment layer on top to your scanned image layer. This will let you filter the colors individually even if the file is in RGB mode.

Other known method will require to convert the image to CMYK mode first and then fill the the Cyan, Magenta and Yellow layers with white to remove the colors (blue in your case) which will leave you with a washed-out grey color that you can adjust with levels or Curve adjustment layers to make it flat black and white.
