How to automatically remove shadows from the image?
Is there a way using Photoshop CC 2017 to automatically even the colors (increase the brightness of the specific areas based on masked areas, or apply an average value to the whole image). I'm trying to prepare photos for texturing in ZBrush and currently, struggle to remove shadows on skin.
With photo open in Photoshop, go to Filters: Camera Raw Filter (even if your photo is a jpg, not raw, it will still work).
In the Camera Raw Filter window, make sure "basic" panel is active (under the histogram, icon on far left, looks like aperture blades).
Move the "shadows" slider to the right, to lighten shadows. You can also try moving "blacks" slider to the right, and "highlights" slider to the left, if the bright tones get too bright.
If you need more selective control, you can try the dodge tool (not in Camera Raw Filter) to lighten dark areas of the image.
Feel free to follow up if you have further questions.
