16÷4 x (8-4)-1.
First, do the parentheses:
16 ÷ 4 x (4) -1.
Next, you do the division and multiplication in order from the left to the right:
Since 16 ÷ 4 = 4
now you have:
4 x 4 - 1
Now you do the next multiplication:
4 x 4 = 16 so now you have:
16 - 1
Now you can finish the problem:
