Hey Chris,
I invite you to use Desmos.com and graph the function to help you understand the end behavior better. Essentially, you are look at how the graph behaves when it's approaching negative infinity and positive infinity.
For instance, a positive parabola (like a U shape), approaches positive infinity on both ends because both ends of the arrows of the graph are pointing up. Hope this helps.
