Let x = width. &. X+8 = length. Then area = x(x+8) = x^2 + 8x = 209

or X^2 + 8x -209 = 0. Using the quadratic equation to solve, we find that x = -19. Or 11 discard -19!

So, width = 11 & length = 19

check: Area = 11 x 19 = 209
