To find the slope between P(1, 2) and Q(5,5), use the slope equation m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) = (5-2)/(5-4) = 3/1 = 3
The slope between points p and q is 3. If you have another line, look to see if the slope is the same, if so, the lines are parallel. If the slope are negative reciprocals (so the other line would have a slope of -1/3), then the lines would be perpendicular. If neither is true, then the answer is neither.
