Hello Dasany.
Let A = first odd number
A + 2 = second consecutive odd number
A + 4 = third consecutive odd number
(-3) (A + (A + 4) = Negative 3 times the sum of the 1st and 3rd
consecutive odd numbers
(8) (-(A + 2)) + 50 = Fifty more than 8 times the opposite
of the 2nd consecutive odd number
Therefore, our equation is:
(-3) (A + (A + 4) = (8) (-(A + 2)) + 50
-3A -3A -12 = (8) (-A - 2) + 50
-6A - 12 = -8A - 16 + 50
-6A - 12 = -8A + 34
8A - 6A = 34 + 12
2A = 46
A = 23 which is the 1st odd number.
A + 2 = 23 + 2 = 25 = 2nd consecutive odd number
A + 4 = 23 + 4 = 27 = 3rd consecutive odd number
ANSWER: 23, 25, 27
CHECKING:
(-3) (23 + 27) = (-3) (50) = -150
(8) (-25) + 50 = -200 + 50 = -150
Hope this is helpful to you Dasany.
