And x - y = 41
Solve the first equation for y by subtracting x from both sides giving:
y = -11 - x
Since y and "-11 - x" are the same, plug in "-11 - x" wherever you see y in the second equation or:
x - (-11 - x) = 41 and solve for x:
x + 11 + x = 41
2x = 30
Finish solving for x then plug what you get for x back into y = -11 - x to find out what y is.
