either m/c or c/m, that is the number used to convert from milk to cheese (c/m) or cheese to milk (m/c)
So if 3 pounds of milk are needed to make 2 pounds of cheese you could write 3m = 2c or m = 2/3 c
That would make the constant of proportionality 2/3.
If you flip the equation, and use 2c = 3m then c = 3/2 m and 3/2 becomes the constant of proportionality
