Greetings! Lets solve this shall we?
Let the amount of quarters be
(x+14) = quarters
x = nickels
So we now set the equation up to be
0.05x + 0.25(x+14) = 5.60
0.05x + 0.25x + 3.50 = 5.60
0.30x + 3.50 = 5.60....................Then subtract 3.50 to both sides such that
0.30x = 2.10.....................Then divide 0.30 to both sides such that
x = 7
Hence,
(x+14) = (7+14) = 21 quarters
x = 7 nickels
I hope this helps!
