How to make a solution of a certain molarity?

Let's say I have an unlimited supply of some pure product, such as Ascorbic Acid (C6H8O6).

I will mix it with some deionized water. If I wanted make a specific solution of a certain molarity, would I simply divide moles/liters?

For example:

> If I have 9.98 grams of C6H8O6 and convert that to moles (MM of AA is 176.12 g/mol) and get 0.0566 mol C6H8O6

> Then I use about 230ml or 0.23L

> Then to get molarity = 0.0566mol/0.23L = 0.246 M

Would this be correct or am I going about this wrong? Thank you for any advice.
