With the above equation, all we are doing is applying the distributive law of mathematics, okay?
Therefore:
5(e + 6) = 75
5e + 30 = 75 <-----you multiply the five by each term in parentheses and subtract 30 from both sides
5e = 45 <-----now we divide each side of the equation by 5
e = 9
