Hi Desteny,
City cabs chargers a $2.50 pickup fee and $1.75 per mile traveled. Diego’s fare for a cross- town cab ride is $20. How far did he travel in the cab?
First, subtract 20-2.50 to find out how much money was spent on the mileage. You should get 17.50.
So now you know that 17.50 was spent because of the distance traveled. If one mile costs 1.75, divide 1.75 into 17.50 to find out how many miles he traveled in the cab. You should get 10 as your answer.
I hope I helped.
Mike
