A fraction is (numerator) / (denominator).
Now, when the numerator is less than the denominator, you have a proper fraction. [e.g., 3/5]
When the numerator is larger than the denominator, you have an improper fraction and may convert it to mixed number. [e.g., 10/3 = 3 1/3 or 6/3 = 2]
Divide the denominator into the numerator and keep the remainder as a fractional result. [10/3 is 3 with 1 remainder, so 3 1/3; 6/3 is 2 with no remainder, so 2.]
