It takes 6 minutes to fry each side of a fish in a frying pan. Only 4 fish can be fried at one time. What is the minimum number of minutes needed to fry 5 fish on both sides?

each fish has two sides

6 x 2 = 12 minutes per fish

4 fish at once

5 fish, so we need to do 2 batches

4 of them can fry at the same time, so we will only need 12 minutes to fry the first 4

for the last one, we will need 12 more minutes

12 minutes + 12 minutes = 24 minutes

It will take 24 minutes to fry all 5 fish.
