Hi Samantha. In order to solve this problem, we must divide the total length of ribbon that Julie has(1.6 meters of ribbon) by the length of each piece that Julie wants to cut the ribbon into (0.2 m of ribbon). This is the only way to find out how many pieces of equal length will the ribbon be cut into. When we do so, we will get:
1.6 m of ribbon/ 0.2 m of ribbon = 8 pieces of ribbon
