r in the equation is the Radius of the sphere.
The radius of a sphere can be found using the diameter.
d = 2*r,
Solving for r in the equation above give
r = d/2
Since the diameter is given as 16cm, then the radius is 8cm.
Plug this value into the volume formula
V = (4/3) π r2
V = (4/3) π (8)2
V = (4/3) π * 64
V = (512 / 3) π
V = 170.667 π
