slope is figured out by this formula:
(y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
(4 - 2)/(0 - 1) = - 2
so slope is -2.
I assume you want the y-intercept. It's 4 because the x-value of a y-intercept is 0.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
to figure out slope we need two points: (-4,2) and (1,0)
I have given you the formula above, so plug the two points in to the formula:
0 - 2/1 -(-4) = -2/5
so, -2/5 is slope.
let's use y - y1 = m(x - x1) to figure out y-intercept. we can use either point:
y - 0= -2/5(x - 1)
y = (-2/5)x + 2/5
the above equation is in y = mx + b form which 'b' equals the y-intercept:
b = 2/5
