Is 24 divisible by 3?

Add the digits in 24.

2+4 = 6

Is 6 divisible by 3, yes.

Then 24 is divisible by 3.


This method for answer is true for any number divisible by 3.


1,737,194 = 1+7+3+7+1+9+4 = 32

Does 3 go into 32 evenly? No....then 1,737,194 is not divisible by 3.

Actually, any number is divisible by any other real nonzero number. Evenly divisible is another matter.
