My opinion:: log(x+2)2 means log [(x+2)2].
If I wanted to write the square of the logarithm, I would write log2(x+2) or perhaps better yet
[log(x+2)]2..
If there is ever any question, it is always better to use parentheses!

asked 12/13/18I have the expression log(x+2)2 and I am asking, should this be interpreted as (log(x+2))2 or log((x+2)2)?
All online calculators interpret the notation the first way, but a math teacher disagrees.
