basic math to calculus tutoring
you are trying to make two equations using giftwrap and greetingcards.
It sure soesn't seem like they've given you enough information to figure it out, does it? But, if you know two equations about two different variables, that is enough to figure out how many of each there are!
This is a classic type of problem. Essentially, you need to make two equations out of the information given. For the first equation, you need to model how many things were bought in total.
they sold 305 packages in all of wrap and cards.
that is, w + c = _____.
The second equation we make models how much money is made
if we get $4 for each wrap pack and $10 for each card pack.
We know though that if I buy 5 lolli-pops at $2 each though, that we will have spent $2*5
Similarly, we will have spent $4*w on all our wrap and
$10*c for all of our cards.
What do we then know about
4w + 10c = _____ ?
