The equation for the area of a rectangle is w times l or A = wl
In order to find the length on its own from this equation, we need to rearrange the equation to have just l on one side. To make l by itself, we need to divide by w on both sides which gives : A/w = l
A/w = l
If the width is 6 : w = 6
The area is (12m + 18) : A = 12m+18
Then we need to plug in the equation to get : (12m +18)/6
dividing 12m/6 = 2m
dividing 18/6 = 3
then the length is (2m+3) feet
