asked 11/30/18Formula help needed!
Im trying to create a formula for excel. I have (((l*w)*(Excess thickness)/144) My problem is when the excess thickness becomes 1 or greater I get a number greater than the actual square footage there which is wrong
How can I solve this?

Trevor, what is the goal of the function you want? The function you have written produces volume rather than area, so it’s not obvious to me that there’s anything wrong with it.
So, are you wanting a function that gives area? Or volume?
what is the meaning of “excess thickness”?

Your equation has unbalanced parenthesis so should it be ((l*w)*(Excess thickness))/144 or l*w*((Excessive thickness)/144)?11/30/18
