Different courses with the same title can vary widely in difficulty. A course called "Elementary linear algebra" is taught in the sixth grade. A totally different course with the same title is taught at the postgraduate level. A similar range of difficulties occurs for courses titled "Discrete Math Structures".
The difficulty of a course also depends on the student. If there are two courses at the same level, "Discrete Math Structures" and "Elementary linear algebra", a student may be better prepared for one than the other. The better prepared a student is, the easier the course will seem.
