There were multiple invasions and repellents during the overall Mongol invasion of Japan, however there was one major event in 1281 that is referred to as Kamikaze Winds (or Divine Winds). Considered by the Japanese to be sent by the gods, chances are it was a series major typhoons that destroyed most of the Mongol fleet.
