What is f(x) when x=3?

David M.

You are missing some info here. You need to know what the "function of x" equals. That is, f(x) = ? in terms of x. Example, if f(x) = 3x and you want to know what f(x) equals when x = 2, you would put 2 in where ever there is an x and then solve: f(2) = 3(2) = 6.
