I am trying to find the width but I am struggling.

The area of a rectangle is 20x²-27x-8. The length is 4x-1. What is the width?

Area = length x width

Area / length = width

width = Area/length = (20x^2 - 27x - 8)/(4x-1)

5x - 11/2

20x^2 - 5x

-22x - 8

-22x + 11/2

-8 + 11/2

-16/2 + 11/2 = -5/2

THe width is (5x - 11/2) - 5/[2 (4x-1)]
