During summer vacation hector and ann earn total $1088. Hector worked 8 days fewer than ann and earned $2 per day less. Find the number of days he worked and the daily wage he made if the total number of days worked by both was 72

2x + 8 = 72

2x = 64

x = 32

Hector works 32 days, ann works 40 days

32y + 40(y+2) = 1088

32y + 40y + 80 = 1088

72y = 1088 - 80

72y = 1008

y = 1008/72

y = 14

32*14 = 448

40*16 = 640
