The 8th grade had 800 tickets to sell to the school play and the 7th grade had 250 tickets to sell. 1 hour before the show, the 8th grade had sold 200 tickets, and the 7th grade sold 225. Which grade sold the greater percent of tickets?

Answer 1

8th Grade:  200 = 1/4 = 25%

                     800

 

7th Grade:  225 = 9 = 90%

                     250   10

 

The 7th grade sold a greater percent of tickets.
