The form of the function is y = mx + b, where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept of the line (0,b). Since (0,0) is on the line, the y-intercept is (0,0), so that b=0. The slope is calculated by the formula (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1). Any two of the three points can be used. Selecting (-4,-2) and (-2,-1), the slope is (-2-(-1))/(-4 -(-2)) = -1/-2 = +1/2.
