I’m Mary. I’m a 7th grader and I’m not in a pre algebra class because of this reason and I need help because my math teacher did not explain it very well and I’m not grasping the concept as well as I thought.

10% of 39 = 3.9

5% of 39 = 1.95 (half of 3.9)

15% of 39 = 3.9 + 1.95 = 5.85

The amount of the tip would be $5.85 and the total bill would be $39 + $5.85 = $44.85.
