determining angles

Question

the measure of angle A is 4 degrees greater than the measure of angle B.  The 2 angles are complementary.  Find the measure of each angle.

Answer 1

Let Angel A be x degrees

 

Other angle = x + 4

 

x + x + 4 = 90

2x +4 =90

 

x = 43 degrees

other angle = 43 + 4 =47

Answer 2

B = A - 4

 

Complementary angles sum to 90 degrees

A + A - 4 = 90

2A = 94

A = 47

 

B = A - 4 = 43
