Okay, so the perimeter is the sum of all three sides...a + b + c.
Side C is one less than twice the length of side a , so
c = 2a - 1
And Side b is 4 more than the length of side c, so
b = c + 4
Therefore,
a + b + c =
a + (c + 4) + (2a - 1)
and since c = 2a - 1, then substitute it in the above equation to get the perimeter in terms of a:
P = a + (2a - 1) + 4 + 2a - 1
P = 5a + 2
P = 5a + 2
