Length and width of a rectangle

The Length of a rectangle is 4 ft longer than twice the width. IF the perimeter is 68 ft, find the length and width of the rectangle.

Let w = the width

Let 2w + 4 = the length

P = 2L + 2w

68 = 2(2w+4) + 2w

68 = 4w + 8 + 2w

68 = 6w + 8

60 = 6w

10 feet = w

length = 2(10) + 4

L = 20 + 4 = 24
