A company took a survey of its employees about the benefits package. 3out every 16 wanted to change the package and 5 out of every 8 wanted it to remain the same. 150 employees were neither for or against a changein the package. how many employees wanted changei just need to know the answer to my question please. thats what this site is about right. aor not now are you going to answer the question.

3 out of 16 wanted to change and 5 out of 8 did not want to change.

 

It will be easier to compare the two if we say

Wanting change = 3/16 of total, and staying same = 5/8 of total = 10/16 of total

 

Note that change + same = 3/16 + 10/16 = 13/16 of total

This means that 16/16 - 13/16 = 3/16 of total did not have a preference.

 

You know from the question that 150 had no preference.

So, no preference = (3/16) of total

or 150 = (3/6) total

 

Do not calculate the total because those wanting change = (3/16) of total

Thus, your answer should be 150
