Sharise has collected 312 stamps, which is 164 less than the number of stamps her sister has collected. Which equation could you use to find the number of stamp

Thanks
great you good

Jeremy S.

Let the number of stamps that Sharise has collected be "a". And the number that her sister collected be "b". And finally the total is "c".
So a=312 ; b=a+164 which means the total number of stamps which c will be the number of stamps that Sharise has plus the ones her sister haves. So c= a+b= a+a+164 = 312+312+164=788
