A fraction word problem that my teacher made up that is working with multiplying fraction but I can't figure out if I did it right or not.

36 * ⁷/₉ = skateboard sale

36 and 9 have a 9 in common to factor out. (because 36 would be in the numerator of ³⁶/₁)

36 ÷ 9 = 4

9 ÷ 9 = 1

 

So we now have:

⁴/₁ * ⁷/₁ = sale, or 4 * 7. Solve that for your final answer.
