At a health food store,dried apples slices that cost 1.80/lb are mixed with dried banana slices that costs 2.10/lb. If the mixture weighs 5 lbs and cost 2.10.

Well, this will be interesting... the mixture costs the same as the bananas.

Now watch what happens..

X+Y = 5

1.8X + 2.1Y = 5*2.1 = 10.5

1.8X + 2.1 *( 5 - x) = 10.5

1.8x + 10.5 - 2.1x = 10.5

-0.3x = 10.5 - 10.5 = 0

x=0

y=5

So just 5 lbs of the bananas.
