Here's what we know:
e + s + y = 68 (their scores add up to 68)
s = 2e (If Erik has half the points of Shee, then Shee has twice as many as Erik)
y = s + 3 (Yael has three more points than Shee)
No to put the variable values in:
e + 2e + s + 3 = 68
e + 2e + 2e + 3 = 68
Simplify:
5e + 3 = 68
Subtract 3 from both sides:
5e + 3 - 3 = 68 - 3
5e = 55
divide by 5:
5e / 5 = 55 / 5
e = 11
Now that we know Erik's score, you can use that to find Sheena's score, and then Yael's.
