If you use the LCM, the shortest possible length is 420.

 

420/6 = 70 pcs

420/12 = 35 pcs

420/30 = 70 pcs

420/42 =10 pcs

 

The second part is unclear, because the 'longest' possible would be some multiple of 420 or a multiple of the sum, 90.
